Authorised Marriage Celebrant
Plus private garden for elopement/ micro Brisbane Southside
The next few pages are designed to give you an idea of who I am & what I can offer you as an authorised marriage celebrant in South East Qld but I'd really love the opportunity to meet & chat about your plans, whether that's in person or a video call and help you decide if I'm the right pick for you and your ceremony.
...happily married to a gym junkie, mum to four grown ups who all look after themselves, so now I have four legged family members who need me and they're likely to come to the office door and say hi when we meet. It was after experiencing all that goes with being Mother of the Bride (twice), helping to plan, make things and toss around ideas, that I decided this was something I could happily immerse myself into and help spread some love around by becoming an authorised marriage celebrant myself.
I'm a planner, I make lists and tick the boxes off as I go, I like being prepared but not in an obsessive, controlling way. I love nature and the great outdoors but I'm certainly no daredevil. If you're planning to marry dangling from a bungee cord or tiptoeing on the edge of a high-rise building then I may not be the right celebrant for you! If feet firmly on the ground surrounded by trees, breezes and birds chirping in the background is more your style then I'm in! I enjoy a good laugh but I certainly wouldn't describe myself as loud or out there. I'm by no means young, but not too old either. I guess you could say I'm the Goldilocks of marriage celebrants... Just right! (hmmm...was that too lame?) I would describe my ceremony writing and delivery style as laid back, somewhat modern with of course some sweet romance squeezed in there too. I can deliver a very traditional ceremony with lots of flowery words and rituals if that's what you request but I have to be honest and say that it's not my favourite style of ceremony; I share this to help you choose the right celebrant for your day.
My daughters and their now husbands had totally different ideas for each of their days but what they did have in common was a limited wedding budget. They proved that it is possible to have a wonderful wedding and create beautiful lasting memories without spending oodles of dollars. Budget friendly weddings can still be beautiful and if that's a priority for you I would love to help you have that same success.
If you're thinking along the lines of a DIY wedding then I can help there too with a small collection of arbours, signing table other decorations for hire to help set the scene if needed. If an elopement or 'micro' wedding is more your style and you want an alternative to the Registry Office, then ask me about my private wedding garden suitable an intimate ceremony with just your two witnesses, or a micro ceremony with up to 10 guests joining you.
I have collaborated with some other talented wedding professionals to offer a great elopement package, arranging the photographer to capture your ceremony and couples shoot, plus a delicious mini cake delivered for you to enjoy with your witnesses here in the gardens; perfect for couples who want a small and simple wedding day that still feels special and meaningful.
There are so many amazing locations and wedding venues available in South East Qld to hold your ceremony; I've driven 2 hours out past Warwick to a camping ground, I've flown up to Port Douglas for a ceremony beside the sea, had many trips up to the popular venues on Mt Tamborine and I've been 2 minutes down the road from my place for a backyard wedding and all of them were perfect locations for each of those couples; I love visiting new venues and I'm prepared to travel to your dream location, especially if you're thinking of a destination wedding in Tasmania (that's a bucket list wedding location for me!)
I'm a team player ready to listen, make suggestions if asked for and work with you to create a memorable day; authentically delivering a ceremony designed around your requirements and reflecting your personalities.
With your wedding countdown underway, I'm ready with the confetti!
Give me a call, I'd love to hear about your plans and join your wedding day team.

Let's have a chat, no obligation to book my services, just meet up and get to know each other a little. You can share with me some of your ideas and ask me as many questions as you like about the legal bits and pieces or even ideas and suggestions.
If you do decide I am the right celebrant for you, the next step is to secure your date with a deposit/booking fee and complete the necessary paper work together. At the bottom of this page you will find an example of the Notice Of Intended Marriage document (NOIM), along with a list of ID documents required to marry in Australia. I prefer to complete the NOIM together if possible so that you don't have to worry if you are filling it all in correctly or not. I'm registered to use the Queensland & NSW online portals for a really streamlined process.
The NOIM lodgement is the first legal step in the process of getting married as there is a compulsory waiting time of one calendar month after the NOIM has been lodged with your celebrant before you can marry.
Once booked, what does a marriage celebrant do?
Taking care of the legal paperwork before, during and after the ceremony is one part of our job, creating and delivering the script is the more fun aspect, but on top of that I'm here for you leading up to your wedding date, either by phone or email to help with planning your ceremony. Sometimes it's pretty straight forward, especially elopements, for more traditional weddings you have to think about the entrance, walking order, where the wedding party will stand and other finer details so that this part of the day runs smoothly.
Not everyone adds personal vows to the legal vow but if this is something you are considering and feel you need a little creative guidance with then I can provide you with examples, tips or even arrange a time to brainstorm together.
Your answers to a questionnaire that I send helps me draft up a personalised ceremony script and I will share that with you so that we can discuss any changes you might like made and make sure we are all on the same page in regards to the feel of your ceremony.
Rehearsals are a good idea if you have a large wedding party, but it can be tricky to find a suitable time for everyone to attend; Planning ahead and booking in early is good but video calls do come in handy when an in person rehearsal just isn't going to work.
By the time your actual wedding day arrives, I would hope that I've helped you both feel relaxed and confident that your ceremony will be just what you wanted.

While small intimate ceremonies are 'my thing', I do have ceremony options available for legals only, elopements, micro ceremonies and conventional big day celebrations. I understand that not every couple have the same wants or needs, so if my current options aren't quite what you're looking for then I'm happy to see if we can tailor something specifically to suit.
Hit the ceremony options tab for more information and prices, or message me with your questions.

When choosing your celebrant budget may come into play but it's probably even more important to consider feelings:
Basically if you're not feeling a good vibe spending time with your celebrant in a casual meeting environment then what hope do you have for sharing in and enjoying this really important component of your big day with them?
Along with my neat list of words explaining my ceremony inclusions, be sure to read what my couples have said in their testimonials about how they felt after choosing me as their celebrant.
When should you book your celebrant?
Unless you are really flexible with your date don't leave us last on your 'to do' list, otherwise you might find out the one you want standing right there with you both on your special day has already said yes to another couple!
