A little bit about me...
Hi I'm Zena, a marriage celebrant on Brisbane's Southside.
I'm a planner, I make lists and tick the boxes off as I go, so yes I like being prepared but not in an obsessive, controlling way. I love nature and the great outdoors but I'm certainly no daredevil; If you're planning to marry dangling from a bungee cord or tiptoeing on the edge of a high-rise building then I may not be the right celebrant for you but if feet firmly on the ground surrounded by trees, breezes and birds chirping in the background is more your style then I'm in! I enjoy a good laugh but I certainly wouldn't describe myself as loud or out there. I'm by no means young, but not too old either. I guess you could say I'm the Goldilocks of marriage celebrants... Just right! (hmmm...was that too lame?)
I would describe my ceremony writing and delivery style as relaxed with a modern feel and if we can find reason for a chuckle I'll give it a go. I promise never to be in the middle of you for vows, rings or the kiss, I much prefer to deliver the ceremony off to the side when the layout allows.
If you were to ask for a very traditional ceremony with lots of flowery words and rituals then I can deliver that BUT I have to be honest and say that it's not my favourite style of ceremony. I share this to help you choose the right celebrant for your day.
If an elopement or 'micro' wedding is what you have in mind and you want an alternative to the Registry Office, then I'd love to give you a tour of my private ceremony garden, suitable for an intimate gathering with up to 10 of your favourite loved ones.
I've collaborated with some talented wedding professionals to offer a great elopement package, arranging the photographer to capture your ceremony and couples shoot, plus a delicious mini cake for you to enjoy with your witnesses here in the garden; perfect for couples who want a small and simple wedding day that still feels special and meaningful.
There are so many amazing locations and wedding venues available in South East Qld to hold your ceremony; I've driven 2 hours out past Warwick to a camping ground, I've flown up to Port Douglas for a ceremony beside the sea, crossed the border for a Byron Hinterland gathering and have had many trips up to the popular venues on Mt Tamborine, I've also gone just 2 minutes down the road from my home for a beautiful backyard wedding; all of them were perfect locations for each of those couples. I love visiting new venues and I'm prepared to travel to your dream location, especially if you're thinking of a destination wedding in Tasmania (that's on my bucket list!)
I'm a team player ready to listen, make suggestions when needed and work with you and your other wedding day providers to help create a ceremony that reflects you as a couple perfectly.

What an honour
The Wedding Industry Awards offer a comprehensive and transparent program that spans over 35 regions across the country, with nominations and votes collected purely from couples who have married within a particular 12 month period.
Tailor Made
While small intimate ceremonies are 'my thing', I do have ceremony options available for what are commonly known as 'legals only' right through to conventional big day celebrations. I understand that not every couple have the same wants or needs, so if my current offerings aren't quite what you're looking for then I'm happy to see if we can tailor something specifically to suit.

How do you choose a celebrant?
When choosing your celebrant budget may come into play but it's probably even more important to consider feelings:
- Did you make a good connection when either talking on the phone with the celebrant or meeting in person?
- Did they really listen to your ideas and plans, are you confident they will deliver what you are hoping for?
- Did they offer some suggestions/resources to help create your special day without making you feel like they were taking over?
- How are they able to add value to your day?
- Were you underwhelmed or excited at the end of your call/meeting?
Basically if you're not feeling a good vibe spending time with your celebrant in a casual meeting environment then what hope do you have for sharing in and enjoying this really important component of your big day with them?

When should you book your celebrant?
Unless you are really flexible with your date don't leave us last on your 'to do' list, otherwise you might find out the one you want standing right there with you both on your special day has already said yes to another couple!
